A Little History...
Upstream was conceived in our back yard while I was beginning to train for triathlons. Like most, I had been going to the local recreation center to do my swim training when the running and biking could be done right from my home. We had a beautiful salt water pool that was too small for any kind of distance swims, but I knew there had to be way. I was aware of other options out there such as Endless Pool's Fastlane, that could be permanently mounted to the wall of our pool, but with limited water space already, that was not going to fit the bill, no matter what the cost. One day as I was swimming, or rather floundering, with my feet tied to the ladder, I realized that I had to create an affordable and effective way to simulate forward movement as I swam. That's when the idea started to take shape! After a few prototypes that worked just fine but lacked a little in the aesthetics department, my wife came up with the secret sauce that brought everything together that we were wanting to accomplish. The product needed to be ATTRACTIVE as well as EFFECTIVE! Upstream is designed to be concealed among the pool side furniture when not being used. But, when it comes out of hiding, it's designed to Wake Up Your Pool™ into a swim spa at a moments notice!
